Earlier this week I welcomed Sallie Krawcheck to the ASHA Penthouse for a talk about her latest venture, Ellevest, a platform for women to invest their money. Sallie is an entrepreneur that I very much admire and as a friend of mine aptly put it, “she is finance royalty!” Sallie has had C-suite posts at Sanford Bernstein, Smith Barney, Citi and Merrill Lynch all before starting Ellevest. She originally came onto my radar when she worked at Citi with my mom and I would hear about how she was a force to be reckoned with. I later read her book Own It and was moved by her message - and I made it a personal goal to meet her one day. Sallie is a risk taker, a trailblazer and a woman who supports other women - something that is so important to me.
After the talk, we headed home for an intimate and delicious dinner catered by Marcia Selden. We also had a female sommelière who paired different wines with each course from women run vineyards in California. It was an alchemy of impressive women and a night filled with inspiration & sisterhood. I felt so grateful to be surrounded by such an extraordinary group and to bring them all together. The night was one of those magical moments I will never forget - and more importantly, a memory for Annabel (who decided to join in on the festivities!) What could be a better example for our next generation?
