Travel Diary: St. Barths vs. Harbour Island

Travel Diary: St. Barths vs. Harbour Island

During the past month I've had the opportunity to visit two of my favorite places for work and some play: Harbour Island & St. Barths.  Although both so different, I love them each in their own way.  St. Barths epitomizes French sophistication, jet-set, & a never ending P-A-R-T-Y amidst a stunning Caribbean setting punctuated by terra cotta houses on peaked mountains - while, Harbour Island teems with quirky, understated glamour and stuns with pink sand beaches and aqua waters...a sort of hidden gem.  If you are up for fashion, people watching and dancing on tables St. Barths is the place to be.  If its R&R, family time and more of a laid back vibe you are after Harbour Island is quite possibly perfection.

Here are some of my top picks from restaurants to sights to shopping on each of these magical islands.  Enjoy! xx Ashley

St. Barths: Favorites

Cheval Blanc, my favorite place to stay on the island.  Absolute perfection!

Ready to enjoy Flamands beach after a delicious breakfast at Cheval Blanc.

My go-to beach St Barths beach accessories: Plage Basket & Raffia clutch.

We rented a Moke, which was fun to drive by day, but the roads are extremely steep and winding (slightly treacherous!) so at night we opted for a Mini Cooper.

Mom and I loved visiting Popie's in Gustavia where we picked up a sweet ruffle skirt for Annabel - all pieces are handmade with Liberty of London fabrics.

Sunday St. Tropez was a favorite where we found beautiful dresses and scarves, as well as TAJ and Delfina in Gustavia.

L'Isola remains the best cuisine on the island and sunset drinks at Shellona are a must.

Harbour Island: Favorites

Understated chic at the Dunmore.  Interiors by Amanda Lindroth who I just love.

Pathway to a dreamy gazebo at the Dunmore.

Annabel looking very happy in pink sands after horseback riding on the beach - perfect for kids!

Bahamian charm in the downtown area.

Serenity at the pool at the Dunmore.

A memento to remember one of my favorite places - Harbour Island Coordinates pendant layered with other good luck charms.

A happy girl relishing in some R&R in one of my most loved Temptation Positano dresses.
