Last week my husband and I ventured to Morocco - one of my favorite places in the world and a plan that we'd had pre-pandemic. It was such a thrill to enjoy this adventure together and indulge in a touch of exotic travel & inspiration.
We flew via Madrid to Marrakech and voyaged up to the Atlas mountains (about an hour's drive). We stayed at the exquisite Kasbah Tamadot and slept in the most beautiful Berber-style tent with panoramic views of the ruggedly gorgeous Atlas mountains - think the freshest air and views of snow capped peaks in the distance. During our stay, we reveled in the the glorious property - owned by Sir Richard Branson - enjoying the pool, the grounds and the delicious restaurant. Our favorite part though was spending the day in a nearby Berber village where we discovered the local artisans weaving textiles, creating pottery and we even cooked a meal with a local family. (It happened to be the most delicious tagine of the trip!) Thank you to Jolie (@journeysbyjolie) for planning & arranging.
After two nights at Kasbah Tamadot, we headed to Marrakech and stayed at Amanjena - a place I had been eyeing for a while. Aman's property in Marrakech, the Amanjena was sleek & serene and a total treat. We also stopped by the iconic La Mamounia where I've stayed during previous trips and had a wonderful dinner at the Royal Mansour. And, of course explored the Medina and found a bounty of treasure we lugged home (!)
Marrakech is a place that always inspires and I hope you enjoy some of our trip highlights below. xx
