I recently traveled to Morocco with my mom for 4 quick days for design and inspiration. Marrakech was an absolute feast for the senses - the vibrant colors - the almond and cedar scents that lace the air - and the mix of French and Arab culture were truly breathtaking. We spent a lot of our time in the Medina (the old city) weaving our way in and out of the Souk finding everything from gorgeous inlaid bone boxes to intricately woven baskets and antique Berber jewelry. We stayed at the incredible La Mamounia which could easily be the most exquisite hotel I’ve ever seen. We also visited Yves Saint Laurent’s Majorelle Gardens which were a sight to behold Akbar Delights had the chicest tunics and embroidered clutches. Dinner at the Royal Mansour transported us back to another era of exquisite Moroccan grandeur. All in all it was a trip of a life time and I can’t wait to come back. Watch out for my spring 2015 collection!
Every inch of Marrakech breathes beauty & inspiration.

Black & white inlaid bone vases, chairs & tables.

Street scene in the Souk.

Bright woven baskets. I brought home a couple for the summer!

Playing dress up - Moroccan jewelry selfie.

Some of the brightly painted pottery we found in the Medina.

La Mamounia.

Antique Berber jewelry from the Atlas mountains.

YSL’s renowned Majorelle Gardens.

A quiet moment at La Mamounia - the tile work and architecture simply stunning.

Dinner at the Royal Mansour - an absolute highlight and must-do.

Our new friends…Until next time!
